  • She retired from films in 1970, having made over 80 films and a number of TV appearances.
  • After her mother's death from a heart attack, her daughter Christina wrote a bitter memoir entitled Mommy Dearest about her relationship with her mother, in which she alleges a pattern of abuse throughout her childhood.
